New laws Requiring Greater Transparency from Minnesota Nursing Homes

Effective 8/1/2024 (under Minnesota Session Law 2024, Ch. 108, Art. 3, Sec. 5-6, SF4399), nursing homes in Minnesota must supply information regarding those who have ownership interest in both the nursing home and a related organization.  A nursing home in Minnesota must report to the Minnesota Department of Human Services any licensee, general partner, director, or officer of the licensee who has an ownership interest of five percent or more in a related organization providing services or supplies to the nursing home.  In addition, the nursing home must annually report their costs associated with leases, rents or land use.
