Established in 1993, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum (which includes the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum) is one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. There are over 4000 members throughout the country. Fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members. The quality of our membership is very impressive and includes many of the top trial lawyers in the country. Many of our members have achieved numerous million and multi-million dollar results (several members have won billion dollar cases). Their practice areas include most areas of litigation, including: major personal injury, products liability, malpractice, construction, environmental, employment, insurance and business litigation. The common fact is that they have each demonstrated, in an objective and tangible way, their ability to accomplish superior results in complex cases. Certification by the Million Dollar Advocates Forum provides recognition of such accomplishment and a national network of experienced colleagues for information exchange, assistance and professional referral.
The Minnesota Association for Justice helps members keep current on emerging topics, issues and trends through high quality seminars, conventions and institutes, as well as invaluable monthly and quarterly publications. Recognizing the importance of protecting consumer rights, the Minnesota Association for Justice impacts critical legislative issues through its effective lobbying efforts. The original purpose of networking continues to be one of the most valuable benefits of the vastly expanded membership of the Minnesota Association for Justice.
The Academy of Certified Trial Lawyers is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to bettering the quality of trial advocacy in our nation’s courtrooms and assisting the consumer of legal services in finding experienced and highly qualified trial lawyers. The Academy of Certified Trial Lawyers of Minnesota was established in 1982. Its members are attorneys who have been certified by the National Board of Trial Advocates(www.nbtanet.org) or by the Minnesota State Bar Association (www.mnbar.org) as specialists in civil or criminal trial law.
The National Board of Trial Advocacy was founded in 1977 as a non-profit organization. It was initially located in Boston, before moving to Wrentham, Massachusetts. The NBTA is dedicated to bettering the quality of trial advocacy in our nation’s courtrooms and helping consumers find experienced and highly qualified trial lawyers. Theodore I. Koskoff was the founder and, until 1987, served as the President and Chairman of the Board. In addition to being Senior Partner in the Bridgeport, Connecticut law firm of Koskoff, Koskoff and Bieder, Mr. Koskoff was a pioneer in the field of specialization. He was also a Past President of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Roscoe Pound Foundation and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. NBTA was housed, and fully supported by the Association of Trial Lawyers of American (now American Association of Justice) until 1987 when it became an independent non-profit corporation and moved to independent quarters in Boston.
