Hidden Camera Reveals Abuse at New Hope’s Saint Therese Senior Care Facility

Family members of a pair of residents at New Hope’s Saint Therese Senior Care Facility were concerned about bruising and injuries with their loved ones. They decided to personally place hidden cameras in the resident’s rooms, finding shocking evidence of mistreatment and abuse.

On June 29th two nursing assistants at Saint Therese of New Hope were dismissed following confirmation of allegations that they physically abused two residents. Eight additional nursing assistants have been dismissed for failure to report and/or use of cell phones in residents’ rooms, which is also a violation of staff rules.

This is not the first investigation of Saint Therese of New Hope. In April 2014, 92 year-old World War II veteran and Kosieradzki Smith client, Bill Lacina, was nearly drugged to death at Saint Therese when he was given narcotics, something which he was never prescribed. He was admitted to North Memorial Medical Center’s emergency department where he was treated for a narcotic overdose.
