Physical Abuse

“Nanny-Cam” shows disturbing abuse of 90-year old nursing home resident

A 90-year-old patient’s family installed cameras at a nursing home in the Philadelphia area because they were concerned that their loved one was being maltreated. Their suspicions were confirmed when that video led to a former employee at the nursing home being charged with assaulting the patient.

Baindu Kromah, of Philadephia, was charged with neglect of a care of a dependent person and simple assault, according to area TV station KYW. The incident took place at the Arden Courts facility in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

Kromah was fired after the video was turned into the police. The video showed the 90-year-old patient crying for help. According to CBS Pilly News, “one instance showed the victim being physically mishandled by the defendant to the point that the victim cried out in pain and pleaded for help. The second incident, according to investigators, showed the defendant handling the victim with such force that the victim struck a walker, knocking it over. The victim was forcibly handled upright to the walker, and again, the victim was crying and asking for help.”
