Kentucky media reports that a lawsuit has been brought against the Edgemont Manor nursing home on behalf of a 28-year old female resident. The lawsuit alleges that the woman, who “can’t even speak,” was sexually assaulted by a male patient “as she laid helpless.” It is alleged that the nursing home’s staff “engaged in cover-up of the incident including destruction of evidence until an unidentified employee with a conscience reported this incident to the proper authorities some 12 hours later.” The lawsuit alleges that the nursing home staff “immediately sanitized her clothing, her bedding and bathed her.”
