Staff Member at Buffalo Nursing Home Steals Patient’s Pain Medication

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has completed its investigation of financial exploitation concerns at the Lake Ridge Care Center of Buffalo in Buffalo, Minnesota. A complaint was filed with the Department alleging that a staff member of the facility took a resident’s pain medication without permission. The Department investigated the matter and found that the staff member took an undetermined amount of pain medication belonging to the resident and forged signatures on documents to evade detection. The MDH determined that the caregiver is responsible for the exploitation of the facility’s resident. (Case no. H5513017)
