In its investigation report posted March 4th [H5232020], the Minnesota Department of Health determined that the nursing home operated by the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby, Minnesota, is responsible neglecting its resident, finding: “The facility had no system or policy in place to identify, inspect and maintain shower chairs. At least two staff were aware the shower chair was faulty. Both stated the faulty chair was reported to a nurse. No repair report was sent to the maintenance department.” As a result, the “resident was in the shower chair when the wheel broke, causing [the resident] to fall and sustain a subdural hematoma and subarachnoid hemorrhage.”
