Financial Exploitation

Global Home Health Care Employee Steals from Client

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has completed its investigation of financial exploitation concerns at the Global Home Health Care, a home care facility in Rochester, Minnesota. A complaint was filed by a client of the facility when she suspected one of its employees had stolen three pieces of her jewelry. The Department investigated the matter and found that there was enough evidence to substantiate the report of theft. The missing jewelry was recovered from a local pawnshop. The suspected employee denied any wrongdoing. [Case no. HL21537003]

Responsible care providers don’t steal from the people they are supposed to care for.  They don’t hire employees who  steal from the people they are supposed to care for.  When nursing homes and other care providers fail to hire, train, and supervise their employees, they are not being responsible.  Bad things happen when those we trust fail to meet their fundamental responsibilities.
