Courage Center Patient Exposed to Sexual Relations with Felon

A felon engaged in sexual relations with a mentally undeveloped patient of Courage Center in Golden Valley, according to an article recently written by the Minneapolis Star Tribune. According to the articles:

  • Corey Gordon, 42, of Minneapolis, posed as a personal care attendant of the facility and had sexual relations with the patient numerous times.
  • Gordon has been charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct. He is currently in jail under a $200,000 bail.
  • The patient’s mother told investigators that the facility’s security guards had seen Gordon and her daughter enter the dressing rooms frequently in recent months. The security guards did not attempt to stop Gordon because he had passed himself off as her aide.
  • Gordon’s previous criminal convictions include failure to register as a predatory offender, disorderly conduct, illegal weapons possession, and second-degree assault.
