In April of 2013, the Minnesota Department of Health substantiated a report of physical abuse wherein an employee of the facility hit a resident on the back of his head.
The resident was interviewed and stated that when the resident made a comment about the alleged perpetrator’s hair, the employee immediately cuffed the back of the resident’s head with an open hand. The resident reported being rocked forward a number of inches in his wheelchair and the resident’s head stinging. The resident remarked that this was not the first time the employee had “cupped” his head before, but that it was the most painful incident. [Report no. H5400008]
