The Minnesota Department of Health has determined that the Inver Grove Heights WP II LLC in Inver Grove Heights is responsible for neglect of a resident.  A complaint was filed with the Department alleging that a resident was not provided adequate nursing care. Staff did not monitor the client’s intake and she was on dialysis and on more than one occasion, staff did not administer her insulin. Resident was transported to an area hospital. The Department investigated the matter and found that the facility failed to provide health care services to the resident that were reasonable and necessary to maintain her physical health. The resident has a physician ordered therapeutic diet and 1500 cubic centimeter (cc) fluid restriction due to the resident’s End Stage Renal Disease and Diabetes, which were not provided by the facility.  [Report HL27377001, dated January 18, 2012]

In addition, the Minnesota Department of Health subsequently determined that the Inver Grove Heights WP II LLC is responsible for neglect of a resident.  A complaint was filed with the Department alleging that a licensed nurse was witnessed striking a resident on the back of her shoulder. The Department investigated the matter and found that a licensed nurse abused a resident when she stated to the resident in a stern voice we are not going to do this today and hit the resident on the back of her right shoulder.  [Report HL27377005, dated April 23, 2012]
