Nursing home faces lawsuits and closure

By July 11, 2012 No Comments

Colonial Hills Nursing Center in Tennessee will close down in the near future per an order by the state Department of Health.

Former patients are suing the center, which already faces six violations and the recent loss of its Medicare and Medicaid contracts, according to WBIR.

One family filed a wrongful death suit because their mother was allegedly neglected and left with poor hygiene and life-threatening injuries.

Another family filed a lawsuit against the center, claiming medical negligence that led to diminished physical and mental capabilities.

The company running the nursing home gave the following message: “At Life Care Centers of America, residents are our highest priority. We strive to provide a homelike atmosphere in each Life Care center.”
