Physical Abuse

Woman abused at North Carolina nursing home

By May 23, 2012 No Comments

When Louise Jones, the daughter of 86-year-old Elizabeth Kennedy, received a phone call from Maple Grove Health and Rehabilitation Center telling her that her mother received a blow to the head, she could not imagine that the injury could have come from a worker at the facility.

Unfortunately, Jones believes that an aide at Maple Grove punched her mother in the head.

“It was all kinds of emotions when I saw her—hurt, anger, revenge,” Jones said. “She can’t get up. She can’t walk.”

The incident at Maple Grove leads Jones to believe that other patients are in danger at the home. For now, she is placing her mother in a separate facility with a private family doctor.

Greensboro police are investigating the situation.
