Golden Valley Rehabilitation and Care is a 180-bed nursing home in Golden Valley, MN owned and operated by the Extendicare corporation.   • A schizophrenic resident called 911 because she couldn’t breathe. When the paramedics came the nursing home staff sent them away because the home had a policy of not sending residents to the hospital when their census is low. Her condition worsened over the next 24 hours. Her nails and lips turned blue and then her oxygen saturation levels were observed to be at 30%. She was taken to the hospital where she died.
