KTXL.TV in Sacramento reports that the Crystal Ridge Care Center faces the most severe penalty under state law and a $75,000 find for failure to protect a vulnerable resident from injury. A nursing aide improperly used a mechanical lift to transfer the resident out of a bathtub. As a result, the resident fell out of the lift into the empty tub, struck his head and broke his neck. He died four days later.
