Two “vulnerable adults in need of care” at a St. Paul nursing home had more than $60,000 stolen from them by an employee, according to a recent news report from The Grand Forks Herald.
Lisa Marie Blair, 43, pleaded guilty to four felony accounts of financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult in a North Dakota court last week. Police began investigating the matter after the property manager at the nursing home saw some curious deposits from an elder resident’s checking account. A closer investigation shed light on Blair’s illegal use of the resident’s funds.
A nursing home employee is there to care for a resident, not to steal from him or her. Financial exploitation is illegal. If you have concerns about your own circumstances, contact the Kosieradzki Smith Law Firm online or call us toll free at (877) 552 2873 to set up a FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION.
