Duluth Nursing Home Hides Improper Patient Care

Duluth’s Bayshore Health Center was cited by the state in a May 27 report for failing to “report multiple patient altercations and problems,” according to the Duluth Tribune.

The report, filed by the Minnesota Department of Health, “stems from a state inspection” in March that found two serious violations of federal rules, including situations that were “likely to cause serious injury, harm, impairment, or death to a resident.”

There have been incidents at Bayshore in the past, including one in which “an incontinent patient was not cleaned properly” and another in which “a patient at high risk of pressure sores developed lesions because he or she was not placed correctly in bed.”
