Brief nursing home stay ends in death at Presbyterian Homes facility in Bloomington

Details surfaced recently of a woman who died a week after being sent to a nursing home for a short rehabilitation stint in November 2013, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. State investigators blame Presbyterian Homes in Bloomington, saying the home was negligent in checking the patient and informing her doctor. Minnesota Department of Health Cites Presbyterian Homes for Neglecting its Resident

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has posted its investigation of neglect concerns at Presbyterian Homes nursing home in Bloomington, Minnesota.  A complaint was filed with the Department alleging that the resident was not adequately monitored and her call light was not answered timely when the resident was short of breath, anxious, and had been given extra diuretic medication for a weight gain in two days. Presbyterian Homes’ Workers Cover Up Fatal Neglect
