The U.S. Government provides quality of care information on every Medicare and Medicaid-certified nursing home in the country, including over 15,000 nationwide. Medicare’s “Nursing Home Compare” data base has detailed information about every Medicare and Medicaid-certified nursing home in the country. VIdell Healthcare’s Troubled Nursing Home Operations

Minnesota Public Radio reports that the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has cited the Camden Care Center for 47 health and safety violations, including at least two that inspectors found were “likely to cause serious injury, harm, impairment or death to a resident.” The nursing home cares for about 67 patients, many of whom have behavioral issues including psychiatric disorders, dementia or substance abuse, according to the agency’s filing with the court. MDH Assumes Control of Camden Care Center in Minneapolis to Protect Nursing Home Residents

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has announced that the state of Minnesota has taken over management of Camden Care Center in Minneapolis due to management problems at the facility. MDH took over management of the facility under a receivership order granted by Ramsey County District Court. Resident’s and staff were informed of the change on May 30, 2014. This 87-bed nursing home received a “much below average” for both its Overall and Health Inspections ratings, according to Medicare’s 2012 annual report.
